Our take, up front

Krisp is the standard answer to a specific problem: persistent background noise that in-app suppression can't clear — street-facing windows, kids at home, shared spaces, call-heavy jobs. It filters at the system level, in both directions, across every meeting app at once. Best for: people whose environment is reliably loud and who live in calls. Skip it if: your noise is occasional — the free, built-in suppression in Zoom, Teams, Meet and Webex has become genuinely good. The 7-day free trial (no card) is the honest way to find out which side you're on.

How this page was put together: from Krisp's official documentation and pricing pages, checked July 2026 — not from our own lab testing. Where real-world performance matters, we tell you what to verify during your own trial rather than inventing numbers. When Krisp changes something, the "last updated" date above tells you how current we are.

What Krisp actually does

Krisp installs as a virtual microphone and speaker on Windows and macOS. Your meeting app doesn't talk to your headset directly anymore — it talks to "Krisp Microphone", which sits between your hardware and every app, removing non-voice sound before the app ever receives it. The same happens in reverse for incoming audio.

Three consequences of that design are the whole pitch:

Beyond noise removal, current Krisp bundles meeting AI — transcription, AI meeting notes, recording — and accent conversion features. This page concentrates on the audio side, which is what our readers arrive for.

Pricing (checked July 2026)

Krisp's pricing page leads with the trial, but a perpetual free plan still exists (documented in Krisp's help center). The full picture:

PlanPriceWhat you get
Free plan$0 forever60 min/day of noise cancellation (1.5× with a work email), unlimited transcription, 2 AI notes/day, one device at a time.
Free trial$0 — 7 days, no cardFull premium features; lapses back to the free plan, not to zero.
Core$8/mo billed annually, or $16 month-to-monthUnlimited noise cancellation and AI note-taker, integrations, 1 hr/day accent conversion, 10 GB storage.
Advanced$15/mo billed annually, or $30 month-to-monthEverything in Core plus longer accent-conversion allowances, advanced integrations (Salesforce etc.), team management, 60 GB storage.
EnterpriseCustomSSO/SCIM, security reporting, on-device transcription options, HIPAA compliance, unlimited storage.

Two pricing notes worth internalising: annual billing halves the monthly rate, so the trial week is the time to decide seriously; and if you're purely after noise removal with no interest in AI notes, you're paying for a bundle — factor that into whether Core feels worth it against "free but per-app".

Who should skip Krisp

What to verify during your own trial

Since we haven't lab-tested it, here's the checklist we'd run in the free week — it maps to the failure modes that actually matter:

Frequently asked questions

Does Krisp process my audio in the cloud?

Krisp states that its noise cancellation processes audio on your device rather than in the cloud, which underpins its privacy positioning. If this matters for your organisation, review their current security documentation — and note that AI meeting-notes features involve different processing than pure noise removal.

Is there still a free Krisp plan?

Yes — although the pricing page hides it behind the trial. Per Krisp's help center (checked July 2026), the free plan includes 60 minutes of noise cancellation daily (1.5× with a work email), unlimited transcription and 2 AI notes/day, on one device at a time. The 7-day trial is separate and lapses back to this free plan.

How hard is it to cancel?

Standard SaaS: manage the subscription from your Krisp account, cancel before renewal, keep access until the period ends. Annual billing is half the price but a year's commitment — decide during the trial, not after an impulse annual purchase.

Does one Krisp install cover all my meeting apps?

Yes. Because it's a virtual device, you select "Krisp Microphone" in each app's device picker once, and the same filtering serves Zoom, Teams, Meet, Webex and any softphone alike.

The bottom line

Loud environment, lots of calls? Trial it against your settings.

If the built-in suppression you've already tuned with our guides still isn't enough, Krisp is the established next step — and a week of the full product without a card is exactly the right size of experiment.
